When I moved to Sweden, I went through SFI myself. I looked for an app to practise words in between lessons and couldn't find a calm one — without ads, without pressure and without tricks to keep me hooked.
So I started building Älg in my spare time. I still make it on my own.

Every word and example is translated into 21 languages, from Arabic, Persian and Somali to Ukrainian and English. The app's menus are translated into 14 of them.

Words and stories are sorted by level from A1 to C1, so Älg is useful from your first SFI lesson to long after the course is over.

Stories are grouped by CEFR level, so you start with simple A1 texts about fika and a trip to the market and work your way up.
